Stoke Row Primary School

The Project

Stoke Row Primary School had no equipment when we visited, literally just a small tarmac playground. They had 12k and wanted play panels, line marking and play equipment. But they would only get a token bit of each if they had all three straight away.

Solution and Benefits

We advised the School to go for the play equipment in Phase 1 with their own 12k PTA budget and then prepare a fund bid for the Phase 2 for the other elements.

The existing space was undulating where the old equipment used to be cited. So the site was flattened and a climb around structure was created to maximize space and a small tower, so there was something for everyone aged 4-11. Bonded rubber in two colours was installed and linked flush with the tarmac. This means more children can play all year round by utilizing this grass space.

Conclusions and Feedback

Stoke Row Primary School is a small rural school in South Oxfordshire. We had a small hard-earned budget to replace the school playground equipment which had been removed a couple of years earlier. We were very impressed by Schoolscapes who were very knowledgeable and offered many practical and sensible solutions to maximise and achieve the most out of our limited budget. Schoolscapes were always quick to respond to queries and ensured we were completely happy with our final quote. We were pleased that the excellent service we had received, prior to placing our order, carried on throughout the project.

The installation team kept us informed of progress and the crews who put the playground and surfacing in, kept the area tidy and secure. Best of all, the playground equipment went in on schedule and we are delighted with the results.
